Direwolves had not been sighted south of the Wall in two hundred years. Dragons had been extinct since the reign of Aegon the Unlucky, a hundred-fifty years past. Yet both fantastical creatures returned to prominence in A Game of Thrones and have since proven to be fearsome allies of their respective caretakers. Should the Starks and Targaryens wind up on opposing sides of a conflict, it's likely a battle between their house sigils will ensue. In a one-on-one fight, who prevails, a direwolf or a dragon?
